YOUTH GROUP LAKE PARTY…
Scheduled for this Saturday, August 21st, from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m.   The party will be at the home of Dennis & Marie Nodine.  Bring friends and a snack to share.  RSVP to Tina Morse by August 18th, please.  

ELIZABETH MORSE…
This past Saturday, Elizabeth Morse settled in at UNC-Wilmington to continue her education studies.  Her e-mail address is emm8353@uncw.edu.   As you are able, please send Elizabeth an occasional message to let her know she is in the thoughts and prayers of her church family.  For her mailing address, please see Tina or Nate.   

LUNCHES FOR THE HOMELESS…
Another trip to “the Wall” to distribute bagged lunches to the homeless of Charlotte is scheduled for Sunday, August 29, 2010, at 2:00 p.m.  Items needed:  individually wrapped sandwiches, crackers, chips, cookies, and bottled water.  For additional information, check the church newsletter or contact Vicki Hege.

KAREN KUKLENTZ…
Following her recent surgery and release from the hospital, Karen is spending some time recuperating at her father’s home near Concord, NC.  Although I do not know the mailing address, you may call Karen at 704-597-5647. 

PRAYER SHAWLS…
The on-hand supply of prayer shawls for distribution to those experiencing a time of difficulty in their lives is running low and needs to be replenished.  For those willing to make shawls (approximately 18 x 72 inches), please do so and give them to Charlotte Snyder.   If you would like to participate in this growing ministry but do not feel skilled enough to knit or crochet a shawl, you may do so by donating yarn.  If you need additional information or would like to donate shawls or yarn, please contact Charlotte (704-488-4006, csnyder54@yahoo.com).

LAWN & GROUNDS MAINTENANCE…
If you would like to help with the routine lawn maintenance duties of the church (grass cutting, etc.), please speak with Mark Perryman or Robin Wheeler.  Your assistance is needed!  Mark can be reach at 704-544-0897, Mark.Perryman@cpcc.edu.  Robin’s home number is 803-285-3573; cell number is 803-322-1416.

LOAVES & FISHES…
The suggested donation item(s) for the month of August is non-food items such as toilet paper, bar soap, toothpaste, Kleenex, diapers and wipes, etc.   Please bring your donations to church and place them in the Loaves & Fishes collection cart in the Fellowship Hall.
